The Fast-Paced Word-Based Guessing Game - Travel-sized!
Word Slam Family has all the fast-paced fun wordplay of the original hit game, but in a streamlined, compact format. It includes easier, family-friendly answer words suitable for families and groups with kids ages 10 and up. In this version, the die and timer is replaced by an app. Instead of using card holders, the two box halves are used as screens between the teams and the answer cards are played behind the screens.

Word Slam Family isn't just another word-based party game! With both teams competing simultaneously, players can use guesses from their opposing teams to try to determine the answer. Quick thinking is a must in this fast-paced guessing game that's the perfect choice for your next game night. Seven different categories make the game fun for all ages and easy to introduce new players into the game.
How to Play
Two teams compete to guess the same answer word first! Each team has a storyteller and both receive an identical set of 105 story word cards, each with a single word on it: a noun, verb, adjective, or preposition. These story word cards are the only thing the storyteller can use to get their teammates to guess the answer word. Speaking and acting are not allowed! Playing at the same time, the storytellers lay down story word cards that only their teammates can see, in the hopes that they'll guess the answer correctly-and quicker than their opponents. It's like charades, but instead of acting, you can only communicate with word cards!

Word Slam Family is a more compact, family-friendly version of the hit game Word Slam. The answer cards in Word Slam Family are grouped into seven categories: Animals, Plants, Creatures; Travel, Outdoors, History; Food & Drink; Web & Social Media; Emotions; Science, Technology, Religion; and Movies, Music, Literature. These categories help younger players know where to focus their guesses from the start. Also, in Word Slam Family, the game box is used as a divider between the two teams and players can to use their phone or any stopwatch as a timer, making the game more portable, with less components to carry around! Word Slam Family can be used completely independent from Word Slam, or mix and match the cards to add even more variety to your game.
About the Designers
Inka & Markus Brand live with their children Lukas and Emely in Gummersbach, Germany. They have published many children's and family games together and won numerous prizes. They are also avid riddle and escape game fans and are the designers of the highly acclaimed Exit: The Game series, also from KOSMOS Games.
